All Eddie Hawkins wanted, after getting out of prison, was to settle down and have a nice, hot cappucino. But for the best cat burglar in the world, peace don't come quietly. Before long, the Hudson Hawk is caught up in a web of intrigue, villianry, and plain stupidity as he is used by the CIA, the mafia, the Vatican, and the insane Mayflowers for a scheme that will accomplish, no less, WORLD DOMINATION! So from Hoboken NJ to Rome, Italy, the Hawk is fighting for his life while stealing three objets d'art that contain Leonardo da Vinci's greatest masterpiece: the secret of alchemy. Join Bruce Willis in one of the best cult comedies ever made - and one that he wrote himself!
Hudson Hawk flew in crazy directions, swooping between action and comedy, intrigue and farce, romance and adventure. I loved it and recognized why the world hated it: no one really knew how to take it. You either hate it or love it, and to love it you got to have a great sense of humor and the ability to just enjoy a movie set in a different reality than yours, one where cat burglars go thieving to the tune of "Swinging On A Star." I give a great rating to this movie and definitely recommend it.
