Hopefully we’ll be seeing Cast a Deadly Spell and The Dresden Files.
In your first paragraph there, you forgot one other element critical to noir. Hats. Noir runs a very close second behind Westerns in its association with hats. It’s why the cover of most of the Dresden Files novels show Harry wearing a hat even though it’s specifically stated in the text more than once that he doesn’t have one. Hats are very noir. Especially fedoras.
