General News:
Twentieth Century Fox is set to shut down comedy and genre films production label Fox Atomic. Head Debbie Liebling will return to 20th Century Fox as an executive, continuing to develop comedy and genre films. Atomic movies coming out later this year are Chris Columbus’ comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper (July 10), and Karyn Kusama’s horror Jennifer’s Body (September 18). Other titles that “presumably will move over to 20th” include 28 Days Later sequel 28 Months Later, and potential Sacha Baron Cohen vehicle Accidentes. Read the rest of this entry »

After some cuts were made, comedy Year One has been rated PG-13.
Director Kevin MacDonald is prepping The Eagle of the Ninth. Says MacDonald: “It takes place in Roman Britain in the second century. All the Romans will be American, all the Celts will be Scots and it’s about the friendship between a Roman legionary and his Celtic slave. They go on a journey upriver, kind of like Apocalypse Now, crossing Hadrian’s Wall, looking for the Lost Legion in the wilds of second century Scotland.” Read the rest of this entry »

Can you believe The Matrix is ten years old today? I remember when that came out in college, and me and my friends had absolutely no idea what it was going to be… and walked out of the theater with our minds blown. XKCD has a special strip in commemoration.
Also, today marks MRFH’s 2200th review! Sooner or later we’re going to have to invest in new tires.
